LED it Blossom, LED it Flow
When Portuguese designer Bruno Fosi (creator of the ingenious tactile silicone iPhone case for the blind) set out to concoct a new LED lighting system, he decided to include the end user in the design process.
“The concept behind this light artefacto is to give some modularity, but without relying on recognizable patterns,” Fosi says.
Fosi continues, “So the user can design or grow his own light, based on his own taste and space. Like a rising tree branch, we never really know how it will be when it fully grows."
The result is the Branch Light, a modular system constructed of lightweight, dark-gray ceramic, with no wiring, no threads and no interconnects to worry about. The branching facets are held together by powerful neodymium magnets.
When assembled, the Branch Light is a beautiful study in contrasts, with cool, hard-edged mechanical elements coming together to form a blooming, unpredictable organic structure like no other.
