Here's a preview of some of the products that we'll be checking out at the CEDIA Expo in Atlanta this week.
Check back starting tomorrow for our live blogging from the show.
Monitor Audio PL200 Tower
New in Monitor Audio's Platinum Range of high-end speakers is the PL200 Tower.
The company's main focus with the unveiling of this new product is to introduce a newer, more compact version of an older model--the PL200 Tower is essentially an alteration of the older PL300 loudspeaker.
It stands less than 39 inches in height, features 6.5-inch RDT bass drivers, one 4-inch RDT mid-range driver and Monitor Audio's Platinum C-CAM ribbon transducer.
The speakers are available in piano-black lacquer, as well as lacquered Santos rosewood and ebony natural wood veneers.
Anthem LTX 500
Anthem enters the front projection market with two LCOS front projectors, the top of the line of which is the model LTX 500.
It features 2x high-precision zoom lenses with motorized focus that are digitally driven by three-panel 1920 x 1080p LCOS engines.
It is HDMI 1.3 compliant and offers color management, THX-certification, and pre-calibrated movie settings optimized for Blu-ray and HD broadcasts.
Other specs include: 50,000:1 contrast ratio, 900 lumens, and 16 aperture steps for setting color and brightness.
THIEL is taking its high-end speaker technology outdoors with a new surface-mount outdoor speaker called DewPoint.
The speaker is a modified version of the company's PowerPoint 1.2 on-wall speaker with a couple of key differences, the biggest being constructed for outdoor environments. The speaker is designed with a combination of coaxial/coplanar drivers and a wedge-shaped enclosure that emits audio in a 90-degree radiation pattern, which Thiel says is wider then most in-walls.
The company also claims that the DewPoints, eliminate the wall-reflection cancellation that mars the sonic performance of virtually every other surface-mounted speaker.
Tributaries HXC6 Extender
The HXC6 Extender by Tributaries sends an HDMI signal over distances of up to 45 meters (147 feet) "virtually loss-free."
Plus, it has a smaller footprint for fitting behind flat panels or inside single-gang mudrings.
It requires a double run of standard CAT5E or CAT6 network cabling. CAT5E will provide 1080p/8-bit color capability up to 45 meters (148 feet), while CAT6 will provide 1080p/12-bit color (Deep Color) up to 15 meters (50 feet).
The new HD-DA-2-QUAD HDMI distribution amplifier from Crestron is designed to split up to four HDMI, DVI, or DisplayPort Multimode signals in order to feed separate displays or processors.
