Canton Vento 880 DC and 810
November 17, 2009 By Liz Palacios
Canton is expanding their line of speakers with two new Vento models.
The 880 DC is a 39-inch-tall, three-way floorstanding model, while the 810 is a small two-way monitor.
All the info after the jump.
The Vento 880 DC features a pair of 6-inch aluminum cone woofers and a matched 6-inch aluminum midrange driver. The speaker is 11-inches slim, a look further accentuated with the Vento series’ characteristic curved side panels.
Canton claims this speaker's DC technology eliminates signals below audible frequency range that may cause unwanted harmonic distortion in the lower bass range.
Compared to other speakers in its category, Canton claims this provides a more linear bass reproduction at lower frequencies. According to Canton, the frequency response is 23 Hz to 40,000 Hz.
The Canton Vento 810 is the smallest model in the Vento line, and can be used as a small monitor for audiophile grade music reproduction, or surround sound speaker in a home theater.
The two-way speaker has a single 6-inch aluminum woofer, and is shown below with an optional LS85 stand. Frequency response is a claimed 33 Hz to 40,000 Hz.
Both models feature Canton's own ADT-25 aluminum-manganese dome tweeter, include biwire/biamp capability, and come in a variety of finishes.
Vento 880 DC: $2,250/each
Vento 810: $800/each
