NAD T 175
October 28, 2009 By HE Staff
The new T 175 from NAD offers up something not usually found in the high-end audio realm: modular upgradability.
At its core is a fully featured preamp/processor, but it's the "MDC" or Modular Design Construction that puts the T 175 on the map.
All the info after the jump...
On the audio side, the T 175 comes with Audyssey MultEQ XT room correction, tweaked by NAD with custom target response curves. There's also Audyssey's Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ. There's 24-bit, 192kHz DACs, and a custom toroidal power supply.
Of course you get decoding of all the new audio formats.
On the video side, there's a Sigma VXP video processor that scales everything to 1080p and transcodes to HDMI. There are four HDMI 1.3 inputs and three component inputs.
The MDC is a layout mentality that puts key circuitry on removable and replaceable modules. In addition to allowing upgradability in the future, this also means that it is easier to service the different parts of the preamp.
NAD is claiming a frequency response of ± 0.5dB from 20Hz to 20kHz.
The T 175 is available now.
